Life Classes at the Heene Gallery

The life classes are going really well with great feedback, in a scenario where I have not advertised as "word of mouth" seems to be doing all the work!
Some really great pieces of work being produced across a broad range of personal styles.
The second costume life night was inspired by the folk- lore world of Arthur Rackham's illustrations of fairies.
Our wonderful model for the evening was o.k. with the bracken, ivy and vines - and with wearing the large tissue fairy wings!
The reference photos I took turned out really grainy for several reasons - mainly that I forgot to alter the low res format from a previous shoot. Still, kind of adds to the mystery.

  1. Lo my friend! You know you are a quarterly person? You post once every quarter. its nice to see you're busy with life classes. My class' studio (its not really an atelier) has been having Friday night costume and so far no fae - although they've had Egyptian royalty and steam punk. I like your photo and thank you for understanding a mini rant! Sometimes they just burst forth to the surface and then.... stand back! Her wings are...cyan? Turquoise? Cerulean? Ah... blue. cheers. ks

    1. Hi Karen, really good to hear from you. So much stuff going on this summer. Eldest son left home to live in the Lake District (Beautiful) with his printmaking /art teacher girlfriend. Ironic as they enjoyed the new build and his bedroom for two months. (it would make a good studio!) I guess the landscape there is like the elevation you live in but with MORE water. It's soooo green.
I will try not to be so quattropostio.
Health and Happiness to you and your family,

      Marcus.
